Dave's Parents Brian and Judy Bosscher visited in early July. We went to Ithaca and visited the Six Mile Creek Winery, the Ithaca Farmer's Market, and some of the waterfalls. We also ate Spiede sandwiches, the local specialty in Binghamton!
My Mom also visited. We went to Ithaca as well and visited some waterfalls, went to the farmer's market there, and saw a Shakespearean play.
We went an visited the Aukema's kittens!
Dave and mom and I went to New York City by bus. We visited the Statue of Liberty and Eallis Island by ferry. We also road the subway, ate at Subway, and wandered about Times Square. We had dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp. Our favorite part was probably just wandering around gawking at all the huge buildings and all the people (like the good tourists we were :D ).
I think the next picture is the week after everyone left. I decided it was time to wash the sheets. Dave decided it was time to sleep. :D
We visited the kittens and decided to take them on an adventure outside.
15 days until we get to see sookie. >^-^<
All is going pretty well here. The time flew by. It seems like the third month we are really starting to get settled in and will miss people. Who knows though, maybe they'll call dave to be their pastor a year from now. (not that i'm indicating anything definite, just a possibility.)
As far as my goals for the summer, I've made some friends here and kept in touch with people back home more than last year. I did not read the entire Bible in one summer, but I have gotten into a bit better habit, which is better than nothing. I helped out with worship and otherwise did a decent job at staying out of dave's business. I also cooked delicious meals and learned some new recipes. :D Overall, a very good summer.
happy trails,
Sara
